标题: 4月12日，开始背新概念拉！开帖纪录中...
大二的时候就买了新概念的书了，可是一直都没有坚持读...

毕业了，工作了，英语虽然一直没丢，可是感觉我用英语也停留在最初级的阶段上，阅读和写作更是弱项...
如何能够通过自学来快速提高应用能力，似乎一直困惑我，当然困惑我的还有08打算参加的入学考试...

看了坛子上默版和其他XDJM的介绍，这几天又浏览了几篇新概念的文章，发现真的是本好教材，有些语句写的很好，似乎已然下了决心，要把新概念背下了...

从哪一册开始呢？看了默版的第一册，似乎有点简单，还是从第2册开始吧...
计划每天白天能背一课，然后再此纪录下我的所得，纪录下我认为优美的句子...

2-1 A private conversation

课文默写:
Last week I went to the theatre. I had a very good seat. The play was very interesting. I didn\'t enjoy it. A man and a young woman were sitting behind me. They talked loudly. I could not hear the actors. I got very angry. I turned around and looked at the man and the woman angrily. They didn\'t pay any attention. In the last, I could not bear it. I turned around again. \"I couldn\'t hear one word.\" I said angrily.
\"It\'s none of your business.\" The man said rudely\"It\'s a private conversation.\"

错误纠正:
1. They were talking loudly. 过去进行时态更合适

2. I got very angry. 和 I could not hear the actors. 前后颠倒了
3. In the end --写成了In the last(低级错误啊) 如果想用last 也应该是 at last吧
4. \"I can\'t hear a word\" 在说的话里面应该是现在时态

5. The young man said rudely...

这样的短文都能有这么多错误，还是... 何况还是看过的，记住的... 晕啊!

2-1 A private conversation 句子分析和摘录

1. I got very angry.  比 I was very angry. 好，后者仅表示状态
其中get词在此释义如下：reach the specified state or condition; become达到某状态或情况；变得..
其他搭配：get bored, hungry, worried etc. 生厌，饥饿，不安等等
                  get fat, fit, thinner, etc.
例句：It\'s getting colder.
You\'ll soon get used to the climate here.

2. I can\'t hear a word. 我一句话都听不到。
a word / a few words of advice, sympathy, warning 一些劝告、同情、警告的话
in a word briefly 一句话，简言之...
in other words 换句话说
word for word  逐字地复述、重复、翻译
例句：He repeated what you said word for word.

3. It\'s none of your business. 这不关你的事
business:
things that one is rightly concerned with or interested in; duty; task 理应关心的事情；职责；任务
例句：It\'s the business of the police to protect the community. 保障社会安全是警察的职责。

things that need to be dealt with, matters to be discussed 需要处理的事；所讨论的问题
例句：Unless there is any other business, we can end the meeting. 如果没什么别的事情，会议可以结束了。

还有拼写的错误，

day用on这个介词，这个记得很清楚，可是下笔时怎么就顺成in了呢...
thirty-seven，中间是要加连接符的，这个以后估计能记得了，印象深刻啊...

错误很多，不过感觉这样有助于长时间的记忆...经常看看以前背的文章是不是能加深记忆呢...
原文visit用的真是好，我似乎没有用这个词的习惯，我知道了自己想到这个词总是与“访问”联系起来...

1. day/month/year与 metre/ton/meal等都有复数形式，可是有时候我总是用错的...
2. work 表示工作（地点、单位、部门）时，不与定冠词\"the\"连用
out of work 失业
work, labor, toil的区别  三个词同为U.C 其中work用的最多
labor多指体力劳动，toil一般指文，费力、费时的工作
eg. This job will require a lot of hard work.
He was sentenced to 10 years\' hard labor.
Workers exhausted by years of toil.
work (away) (at/on sth.)
work (for sb./sth.)
work (under sb.)
I\'ve been working (away) (at my essay) all day.
The miners work (for) 38 hours per week.
She works for an engineering company.

We have an old musical instrument. It is called a clavichord. It was made in Germany in 1681. Our clavichord is kept in the living room. It has belonged to our family for a long time. She struck the key(s) too hard and two of (the)strings were broken. My father was shocked. Now we are not allowed to touch it. It is being repaired by a friend of my father\'s.

这是今天复习了的3-1 A puma at large

Pumas are large, cat-like animals which are found in America. When reports cames into London Zoo that a (wild) puma was(had been) spotted forty-five miles south of london, they were not taken seriously. However, as the evidence began (to) accumulate, the experts from the zoo felt obliged to investigate, for the descriptions given by people who claimed to see(have seen) the puma were extrodinarily(extraordinarily) similar.

The hunt for the puma began in a small village where a woman picking blackberrys(balckberries) saw \'a large cat\' only five yards away from her. It immediately ran away when she saw it, and experts comfirmed that a puma would(will) not attack a human being unless it was(is) cornered. The hunt(search) proved difficult, for the puma was often observed at one place in the morning and at another place twenty miles away in the evening. Wherever it goes(went), it left behind him(it) a trail of dead deers(deer) or(and) small animals like rabbits. Paw prints were seen at a lot of (in a number of) places and puma fur was found clinging to bushes. Some(Several) people complained of \'cat-like\' noises at night and a business man(businessman) on a fishing trip saw the puma up a tree. Now the experts were (now) fully convinced that the animal was a pump, but where had it come from? As no pumas was(had been) reported missing from any zoo of(in) the country, this one must had(have) been in the possession of a private collector and somehow managed to escape. The hunt went on for several weeks, but the puma was not caught. It is disturbing to think a wild large(dangerous wild) animal is still at large in the quiet countryside.

不觉中发现自己经常犯以下几个错误：

1. 时态
尤其是句中的先于动词发生之前的事情，必须用完成时态！！必须切记呀...

2. 句型
发现这个句型是我经常写错的： ...... , but .......

3. 地名和人名
因为表示特指的，是唯一的，所以要大写！！可是地名经常被我忽略啊...

3-2 Thirteen equals one

Our vicar is always raising money for one cause or another.(,) B(b)ut he (has never) failed to manager(managered) to get enough money to have the church clock repaired. The big clock which (used to strike) struck the hours day and night was demaged many years ago and has been silent ever since.

One night, however, our vicar woke up with a start,(:) the clock was striking the hours! Looking at his watch, he saw (that) it was one o\'clock.(,) B(b)ut the bell struck thirteen times before it stopped. Armed with a torch, he(the vicar) went up into the clock tower to see what was going on. In the torchlight, he caught sight of a figure whom he immediately recognized as Bill Wilkins, our local grocer.

\'Whatever are you doing up here Bill?\', asked the vicar in surprise.

\'I\'m trying to repair the bell\', answered Bill. \'I\'ve been coming here night after night for weeks now. As you(You) see, I was hoping to give you a surprise!\'

\'You certainly did give me a surprise!\' said the vicar, \'You\'ve probably woken up everyone in the village (as well)! Still, I\'m happy to see it (glad the bell) is working again.\'

\'That\'s the trouble, vicar\', said(answered) Bill. \'It\'s working all right.(,) B(b)ut I\'m afraid (that) at one o\'clock it will strike thirteen times and there is nothing I can do about it.\'

\'We\'ll get used to that.(,) Bill\' the vicar said(said the vicar), \'Thirteen times is not as good as one.(,) B(b)ut it is better than nothing. Now let\'s go downstairs and have a cup of tea.\'
