讨论一个关于prep 的问题【已回复】

介词 for 有这样一个含义：
because of or as a result of something
eg:
　If, for any reason, you cannot attend, please inform us.
　We could hardly see for the mist.
　You'll feel better for a break.

介词 from 也有大致相同的一个含义，如下：
used to state the cause of something
　mothers who are exhausted from all the sleepless nights
　Death rates from accidents have been on the increase.
　a patient suffering from stomach pains
　The community benefits from having an excellent health service.

请教这里的差别在那儿啊？

from的这个含义通常是在固定搭配里使用，而for就比较自由

这倒是的。
但是我想这些固定搭配也可能是根据这些义项来的，不是没有理由的。不然的话，固定搭配太多了，不好记。

1、for
是表示因为什么原因，所以……
2、from
造成现在的结果的原因是……

两个的用法有明显的区别，for是结果还没有出现，from是结果已经出现了。

有道理。 from 可以肯定结果已经有了，但是for 的话，我觉得不完全是结果还没出现
eg : We could hardly see for the mist.

其实就是因果关系的表达，看个人语感了

She felt sick from tiredness
She accompanied him from a sense of loyalty

for the following reasons
He didn\'t answer for fear of hurting her
