contribute to 是捐助吧
但是这样也不等吧，lead to是导致，attribute to是归因于……
我想A lead to b 应该是等于 b..attribute to a，关系反的，并不完全等价呀。。

恐怕您只了解contribute的一层意思了，一词多义是准备考研过程中必须注意的。
If something contributes to an event or situation, it is one of the causes of it.
这个意思是必须掌握的，
e.g. The authorities\' failure to provide more resources to the police contributes to a general mistrust of public institutions and doubts about their commitment to tackling the Mafia.
