21. The view of Wordsworth about habit is claimed by being _____.
        C) mechanical
本题问Wordsworth对habit的观点,根据人名定位到第一段,“Not choice, but habit rules the unreflecting herd,” William Wordsworth said in the 19th century. We reach for them mindlessly, setting our brains on auto-pilot and relaxing into the unconscious comfort of familiar routine.

22. The researchers have discovered that the formation of habit can be ___.
        D) guided
So it seems antithetical to talk about habits in the same context as creativity and innovation. But brain researchers have discovered that when we consciously develop new habits, we create parallel synaptic paths, and even entirely new brain cells, that can jump our trains of thought onto new, innovative tracks. 当我们有意识地(consciously)形成新的习惯时,我们甚至能够创造全新的脑细胞,这能够使我们的思绪跳跃到新的创新的轨道上(that can jump our trains of thought onto new, innovative tracks,这句话中that指代create parallel synaptic paths, and even entirely new brain cells)。

23. "ruts" has closest meaning to___.
        A) tracks
But don’t bother trying to kill off old habits; once those ruts of procedure are worn into the hippocampus, they’re there to stay. Instead, the new habits we deliberately ingrain into ourselves create parallel pathways that can bypass those old roads.首先我们由they’re there to stay,知道ruts是一个具体的东西,接着由the new habits create parallel pathways that can bypass those old roads.

24. Ms. Markova's comments suggest that the practice of standard testing ____.
        A) prevents new habits from being formed
本题跨度较大,首先必须找到Markova的评论,“But we are taught instead to ‘decide,’ … ” She adds, however, that “to decide is to kill off all possibilities but one. A good innovational thinker is always exploring the many other possibilities.”
The current emphasis on standardized testing highlights analysis and procedure, meaning that few of us inherently use our innovative and collaborative modes of thought. A) prevents new habits from being formed。

25. Ryan most probably agrees that ______.
        D) curiosity activates creative minds
A) ideas are born of a relaxing mind
B) innovativeness could be taught
C) decisiveness derives from fantastic ideas
D)curiosity activates creative minds
根据人名Ryan我们可以定位到最后一段,但很难从中找出与四个选项匹配的观点,不过我们注意到Ryan与Markova是business partner的关系,这两人之间的观点是一致的,由“The first thing needed for innovation is a fascination with wonder,” says Dawna Markova.
A) ideas are born of a relaxing mind B) innovativeness could be taught Knowing what you’re good at and doing even more of it creates excellence.”This is where developing new habits comes in. 但只是说doing even more of it creates excellence.

26. In paragraph 1 and 2, the text shows PTK's ____.
        A) easy availability
All he needs to do is shell out $30 for a paternity testing kit at his local drugstore—and another $120 to get the results.
More than 60,000 people have purchased the paternity testing kits since they first became available without prescriptions last year, according to Doug Fogg, chief operating officer of Identigene, which makes the over-the-counter kits. More than two dozen companies sell DNA tests directly to the public, ranging in price from a few hundred dollars to more than $2,500. All he needs to do,More than 60,000,without prescriptions(无须处方),over-the-counter(通过柜台),sell DNA tests directly to the public我们就很容易得出A) easy availability易得性(很容易得到)。

30. An appropriate title for the text is most likely to be ______.
        B) DNA tests and its problems
本题问文章最有可能的标题是什么,文中对DNA testing outside the lab虽有涉及,但是but some observers are skeptical, critics also argue 这两段是大头,重点信息,说明了存在的问题,所以C) DNA testing outside the lab不完整,此外系谱学家(genealogists)的研究也需要实验室的,文中只是交代了进行DNA测试可能出现的问题,是在实验室内外都有可能出现的问题。

32. It is stated in paragraph 1 that the construction of a new education system _____.
        B) takes efforts of generations
We are fortunate that it is, because building new educational systems there and putting enough people through them to improve economic performance would require two or three generations.

34. The author quotes the example of our ancestors to show the education emerged ____.
        C) when people no longer went hungry
What is the real relationship between education and economic development? I have begun to suspect that continuing economic growth promotes the development of education even when governments don't force it. After all, that's how education got started. When our ancestors were hunters and gatherers 10,000 years ago, they didn't have time for education. They didn't have time to wonder much about anything besides finding food. Only when humanity began to get its food in a more productive way was there time for other things. I have begun to suspect that continuing economic growth promotes the development of education even when governments don't force it. After all, that's how education got started.中的后一个that指代,that就是指代continuing economic growth promotes the development of education even when governments don't force it. C) when people no longer went hungry在解决了温饱的情况下才可以谈教育。
